We got up way before dawn and made the drive to one of my favorite locales on the ME coast (Thanks Gary!). The Bass Harbor Head Light is a killer sunset locale, and it ain’t too bad sunrise locale either. Since I only posted 1 image from last night, thought I would catch up to my DLWS double standard by posting three from this AM so you can see how things changed in less than 15mins.

The top image was taken prior to sunrise. It’s a straight shot. I than turned around and pointed the camera to the west for the coming sunrise. This is a two image merge with the highlight image requiring -5 comp to bring in the detail (that’s a 10 stop range…ouch!). Then, I simply turned around to catch the first rays of light on the head light. It was a terrific morning!
